It has quickly became apparent at my house that Sadie's vocabulary is enlarging quite rapidly. Daily, it is a common occurrence for her to repeat words that I say and mimic actions that I perform. This picture, as hilarious as it is, resembles a great truth. Her eyes are watching, her eyes are on a quest to learn as she models the way I act and talk. As you live your life, remember that people are watching the way you act and talk, what will they learn?

Unlocking the Door

Featured in the picture to the left is Brenner, my homeless friend that I have worked with for over 13 years, opening the door of his home for the first time. As I reflect back on that day, the more this picture means to me. That day I thought I got to witness Brenner unlock the door to his dreams, but I was wrong. That day I witnessed him unlock the door to both of our dreams. His dream to no longer being homeless, my dream that all people would have a place of refuge. After I had left from his home, he sent me a text I will cherish for the rest of my life. It read... "Hey Chad, I am officially not homeless Thanks to you and our Heavenly Father." What dream are you dreaming not only for yourself, but also for humanity? Make some noise-C

I wanted those of you that support our efforts to hear it first from me, before it is breaks on a local news station's air waves. Tomorrow, will be a big day for Stop the Violence, we will be featured on KRBC to be interviewed about our local efforts to fight violence and to announce that STV will take over another city! It will air next Thursday at 10pm. This Summer Stop the Violence will cover a new territory, the stop 6 area of Fort Worth. We are partnering with our dear friend Rodney Mcintosh to make some noise against violence in his city.. More details will follow in the days ahead.

Stop the violence will be featured in Forth Worth this Summer, San Antonio in the early Fall, and Abilene mid-Fall. Stop The Violence is doing what it was created to do, move!

Die Living

Over recent days I have began to realize that in this life I would rather die living my dream of making this world a better place, then die daydreaming about it. Maybe it's because I'm quickly approaching thirty three years old and that was Jesus magical number or maybe it's the constant burn inside me that causes me to contemplate such things. I honestly pray for all of us that we would find the courage to step forth in putting to flight the steps that will help us live out our dreams, regardless of what others might say. I pray God will put people in our path that will encourage us, even though many will call us crazy. I pray that God gives us the endurance and wisdom to follow through on the things we always desired to do.

Throughout my life, if I was to be honest one of biggest pet peeves is waiting. I have found myself waiting for weather to pass, so I could continue with my sporting competition. Waiting for people to show up for a meeting, waiting for that report card to see what I made, the list is endless of how many times I have waited for things to occur. This week I find myself waiting once again, waiting for a letter to arrive in my mailbox. The letter either has information that could change my life and countless others enclosed in it or the letter could have no effect on me whatsoever. This is the second day I have found myself driving to my mail box only to find a hand full of junk mail. After two days of being left with anxiety and let down, I began to realize that my impatience has taken a toil on me. Therefore I did what I know best to do, research other people's thoughts on the process of waiting in hopes of a little enlightenment. Thanks to T.D Jakes I found it, I hope his words help those of you in the same predicament I am in.

"Timing is so important! If you are going to be successful in dance, you must be able to respond to rhythm and timing. It’s the same in the Spirit. People who don’t understand God’s timing can become spiritually spastic, trying to make the right things happen at the wrong time. They don’t get His rhythm – and everyone can tell they are out of step. They birth things prematurely, threatening the very lives of their God-given dreams."

I will never forget the joy I experienced when she said our family's last name. A mixture of joy and pride continues to fill my heart even though many days have come and gone since that day. This experience is one I will cherish for a lifetime.

Just a few minutes ago I increased the temperature on my thermostat in hopes of removing the chill that circulated throughout my home. Then a heartbreaking revelation came in to my thoughts, tonight hundreds in Abilene do not have the same privilege that I have as a result of them residing on our city streets. Please pray for our friends out on the street like the one I met a few weeks ago featured below, he lives in the back of the fed ex truck. He is just one of many who doesn't have a thermostat to adjust.

Home Sweet Home

Hey guys, a friend of mine that I have worked with for over a decade will be able to move into his new home this Monday. I'm sure you're sitting there thinking, "what's the big deal about someone getting a new home?" It's a big deal because my friend's home for the past 13 years has been the streets of Abilene. On Monday I will be able to witness one of my dreams become reality as one of my friends for the first time in thirteen years will not be able to be referred to as being homeless. I say all of that to ask, if you have any furniture, pots and pans, towels, or any other household items that you could give him I would greatly appreciate it. Currently all he owns is a backpack, a bag of clothes, and a bicycle. Thanks for helping a friend of mine out with his home sweet home.

Heartbroken and Angry

I was deeply heartbroken and angry all at the same time as I read this link 3-Year-Old, Grandfather Dead After Murder-Suicide. Heartbroken as a result of the reality that an innocent child never had the opportunity to seize what was set out for them, angry that senseless, heartless incidents such as this occurs.

My prayer this year as a result of people finding their voice, we will no longer have to read headlines like the one linked above.

This Sunday our church community is not going to focus on New Year's resolutions that quickly disappear as fast as they arrived, but we are going to focus on one thing.

If there is one thing I am going to focus on this year is the passion God birthed in me to make some noise, to speak against violence. I am quickly realizing sometimes God calls activists of love to things that many will classify as simply craziness. The beauty in the end, we will all see it was simply an act of divine obedience.

A Legend Goes Home

For those of us that have been in ministry for many years in Abilene and the surrounding areas there is a name that stirs up great memories deep within our soul. H.B. Terry, a man that was and still remains an incredible influence on my life went home this week to be with His Maker. This past July, H.B. came out of retirement as a funeral director to help with burying my Unkie. His words that he shared with me that day, I'll never forget. He said, "Brother Chad I came out of retirement because I wanted to be the one to take your Unkie home. H.B. lived his life as a beautiful example of what it means to follow Christ, there is no doubt that there are thousands upon thousands that have a home in Heaven as a result of his service to God. Brother H.B.,thank you for inspiring all of us that came behind you to do all we can to be obedient to the call of Christ.

Reverend H.B. Terry Jr
Abilene

Homer Brown Terry, Jr., 84, died Tuesday, December 13, 2011 at Hendrick Medical Center.
Born in Trent, Texas on May 24, 1927, he was the son of Jeffie A. (Howell) and Homer Brown Terry, Sr., and in 1929 moved from Trent with his parents to Baird, Texas to a farmhouse only a few miles from Clyde. At seven years of age he began first grade in Baird Public Schools, and in 1939 began the sixth grade in Clyde Public Schools, graduating from Clyde High School in 1945.
As a boy he worked with his Daddy on the farm, and in 1941 began working for Pyeatt's Grocery in Clyde during his high school days, and later for Patterson Funeral Home and BBB Drug Store both in Clyde. In 1943 his family moved from the farm into Clyde where his parents had a laundry and his mother a dress shop, "The Rilla Frances Shop". His father died suddenly in 1945.
In 1945, H.B. joined the U. S. Navy and after training began his service as Seaman First Class in San Francisco and Portland, Oregon aboard a mine sweeper AM164 circling the Pacific from Guam, Okinawa, Hawaii, and other islands.
After being honorably discharged from the Navy, H.B. attended The Dallas Institute of Mortuary Science from 1946 to 1947. After graduation, he married his high school sweetheart, Elsie Faye Tarrant, on February 8, 1947 in the First United Methodist Church in Clyde, Texas.
He began working at Wylie Funeral Home in Baird in 1947 as a Licensed Embalmer and Funeral Director from 1947-1953.
On November 8, 1936, he was converted and baptized at nine years of age at First Baptist Church in Clyde. Having felt God calling him to preach at age seventeen, he surrendered his life to the gospel ministry of God on January 15, 1953 at a revival meeting at First Baptist Church in Baird. On August 30, 1953, H. B. was Licensed and Ordained as a Minister of the Gospel at the same church, Rev. Riley Fugitt being the pastor. He immediately enrolled at Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene as a freshman and graduated with a B.S. Degree in 1958. He attended Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth from 1959-1961. During his years in HSU and the seminary, he pastored three Baptist Churches, Johnson's Chapel Baptist Church (Aspermont), Denton Valley (Clyde) and First Baptist Church, Tuscola.
The other two churches H.B. Terry served were Bethel Baptist Church in Eastland, and Temple Baptist Church (now Lytle South Baptist Church) for 17 years. After resigning as pastor there in 1982, he served as a part-time staff member of Visitation at Pioneer Drive Baptist Church in Abilene (1982-1983). During his ministry he held Gospel revival meetings in many churches over the Big Country area, and in Texas, New Mexico, Kansas and California. Since 1982, he had been a member and Deacon at Pioneer Drive Baptist Church, where he also served as teacher of the Adult Men's Bible Class (The Master's Class) and usher, as well as on various committees at the church, including the Missions Committee and Finance Committee. He also served on the Pastor's Search Committee at Pioneer Drive when both Dr. George Gaston and Bro. Stan Allcorn were called to be pastor.
Over the years he also served on numerous boards and in other capacities - Board of Trustees at Hendrick Medical Center (20 years); Moderator of both Cisco Baptist Assn. and Abilene Baptist Assn.; Board of the Baptist General Convention of Texas; and Board of Taylor County American Heart Assn. He also served as a Chaplain at Hendrick Medical Center in Abilene.
Since 1969, he had been a member of Abilene Kiwanis Club, serving as chairman for Volunteers in the Annual Pancake Fund Drive and chairman of the Spiritual Aims Committee. H.B. was a Master Mason - member of Abilene Lodge #559, and a 32nd Degree Mason of Scottish Rites in Dallas.
H.B. had re-entered his funeral director career with John and JoAnn Hamil in 1983 at Elliott-Hamil Funeral Homes and had worked with Robert and Karla Hamil since they began The Hamil Family Funeral Home in May of 2005.
His parents and two sisters, Jean Higgs and Rilla Frances Mahoney preceded H.B. in death.
H.B. is survived by his wife of 64 years, Faye Tarrant Terry of Abilene; son, Homer Terry III of Lewisville; and grandson and wife, Ben and Annette Terry of Dallas. Survivors also include his brother-in-law, Hugh Tarrant of Amarillo; nieces and nephews, Cathy and Jim Smith, Becky and Duane Fox, David and Cindy Mahoney, Terry and Janice Higgs, Gary and Joyce Ann Higgs, Tommy Alan and Diane Higgs, Judy Tarrant Favor, Linda and Hugh Tarrant Jr., Melvin and Mary Ann Martin and Bobby Martin; cousins, R.W. and Dale Terry, Sue and Ted Getterman and Dene McLeod; and special family, Chuck and Cathy Wolf.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, December 16, at Pioneer Drive Baptist Church with Dr. Jeff Reid officiating, assisted by John Fanning and Gary Higgs. Interment will follow in Elmwood Memorial Park under the direction of The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road. The family will receive friends from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to The Missions Department at Pioneer Drive Baptist Church, 701 S. Pioneer Drive, Abilene, TX 79605.

THREAD OF UNLIKELY

One of the most beautiful threads throughout much of God’s word is God’s passionate pursuit to use the most unlikely people for His glory. Time and time again the creator gives unlikely people a platform that in normal regards wouldn’t have the opportunity otherwise.

Second Kings chapter 5 reveals one of my favorite stories of all time. Naaman was a really good man who commanded an army in the country of Aram. But Naaman had a problem that no army could fix, a bad disease called leprosy. But as a result of one young girl standing up and "making some noise," Naaman's life was forever changed.

All throughout the Scripture we can find beautiful jewels to awaken our souls. I challenge you to read it for yourself, it just might change your life.

I am sure it hurt Jesus to tell the man he couldn't travel along with him, but Jesus knew there was something more important the man needed to do. He wanted the man to go home and tell his story.}

Today, after detoxing from so much Turkey consumption there is one thing that has resonated in my mind. One of the most beautiful parts about Thanksgiving to me is the constant flow of stories that circulate throughout the air. Memories shared of the past or the new memories made, although the stories told vary, the beauty remains. The beauty of one life opening up, courageously sharing with another is breathtaking. As Black Friday quickly approaches, I plead with you to not get so lost in the chaos this season brings that you fail to take time to listen to the stories that surround you.

Celebration of Life: Cliff Allen Pitcock

Cliff Allen Pitcock, 53, died Sunday, November 20, 2011, at his home. Services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, November 25, 2011, at Adams-Graham Funeral Home Chapel with Chad Mitchell officiating. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery, directed by Adams-Graham Funeral Home.
Born April 10, 1958 in Anson, Cliff was a son of Syble (Thorn) Pitcock and the late Richard Jack Pitcock. He was raised in Anson and moved to Iowa Park where he graduated from Iowa Park High School. Cliff was a master plumber and was a Baptist. He volunteered for the Bridges to Life program.
Cliff was preceded in death by his father (Jack Pitcock) and brother (David Pitcock).
Survivors include his wife, Janet Pitcock of Abilene; his mother Syble Pitcock of Anson; a daughter, Crystal Pitcock; three sons, Justin Pitcock (and wife, Shelly), Jerrett Pitcock (and girlfriend, Brittni), David Allen Pitcock (and girlfriend, Kristen); one sister, Darla Patterson (and husband, Micky); grandchildren, Mikael and Riley Pitcock, Garrison Pitcock and Kinley Pitcock.
Family visitation will be from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, November 23, 2011, at Adams-Graham Funeral Home, 732 Ave. I, in Anson.

Please continue to pray for Cliff's wife, Janet and the rest of their family. Janet is an incredible woman who has a tremendous amount of faith.

Get Lost

In a few minutes the day of Thanksgiving will shortly begin. I am so grateful for Thanksgiving, in fact it is probably one of my favorite holidays simply because it is a time of great times with family, great food, and great conversation. But in recent days one thing that has disturbed me is the increasing attempt to distract us from this beautiful holiday. At one time it was Black Friday that disturbed me as I watched time and time again on the news consumers being trampled on by others trying to get that incredible deal. Yet, this Thanksgiving is even more disturbing as a result of the sales starting even earlier. Don't misunderstand I am all about great sales, but what is so alarming is the fact that we can move so rapidly from a time of thanksgiving to a time of stress and chaos as we race down the aisles to get that great present for Christmas. My prayer for all of us this Thanksgiving is that we don't get lost in consuming material possessions but we get lost in the beauty the day brings. Because of each of you, I have reason to be thankful.

Throughout my school years one of the things that annoyed me most was when my teacher would spring a pop quiz on my class. The older I get the more I realize although I'm out of school, pop quizzes continue to not only seek me out, but also anyone else that choses to live a life of faith. Over two thousand years ago in a remote section of the Roman Empire, one man’s revolutionary teachings and way of life sparked a radical movement that collided with society’s traditional beliefs and culture. He unfolded a new and simple plan that would destroy ideologies and models of power imposed on humanity throughout the ages. A simple carpenter from Nazareth lived a life that ignored limitations and boundaries and confronted society’s perspective on Jew or Gentile, clean or unclean, male or female, and even rich or poor. He loved ALL people without prejudice or limit. He changed the world. Yes, this man called Jesus was far beyond ordinary!

He was one single man yet He chose to live differently from all the rest and to love each person uniquely, unashamed and unafraid to fulfill God’s master plan of redemption. He listened to the sounds of the city and He heard the cries of broken hearts. Men called for a woman's death--an adulteress--yet they were sinners themselves. The accused woman herself was guilty--her own sin crying out for love but she sought for it in all the wrong places. A bleeding woman reached out for physical healing but her soul cried out for restoration. Moneylenders and thieves cried out in the temple and in the streets—cries of greed but their hearts longed for something money couldn’t buy. Blind men cried out for a crust of bread but hoped for new sight. The lame and the beggars in the streets cried out for alms but even more, they needed acceptance. Lepers cried out to family members, separated by distance and disease—they needed a healing that went beyond skin to the soul. Mary and Martha grieved the loss of a brother they loved for he had been their mainstay. What would they do without him? Even the religious leaders cried out in anger and hatred against Jesus Himself but He knew that fear lay behind their anger--afraid that they might be found out for they weren’t as perfect as they pretended. Afraid they would lose their power if they were wrong and Jesus was right. Murderers, thieves, harlots, the poor, the homeless, the broken—story after story--all sinners somehow, but each one cried out in need of grace. Their voices reverberated across the chasms of religion, tradition, and social classes. Though no one else was listening, Jesus heard them. His heart broke for every need and He soothed their cries with mercy. The scoffers and religious leaders of the day couldn’t understand it.

Even to us, those old stories are distant echoes resounding across the years like “hellos” when sound waves bounce off surface after surface, as if looking for a place to land—a place to call home. Have these stories found a home in your heart?

Have you ever stood alone in the Grand Canyon and yelled, “HELLO! IS ANYBODY THERE?!” Then, ”HELLO… Hello… hello.... IS ANYBODY…Anybody… anybody… THERE... There...there…” The words bounce of the canyon walls, echoing back across time and space as if they would go on forever. Sound is amplified and impossible to ignore, but no one answers in return. Your own words boomerang back at you and you suddenly realize your aloneness.

The echoes of the city went unanswered for too long--each one resounding its own misery. But finally GRACE answered back and Jesus responded. He was ridiculed, mocked, beaten, wrongfully condemned, and even crucified for His convictions. He gave up His own sinless life to suffer the shame and agony of the vilest criminal’s execution for the sake of their cries. Even on the cross, He remained adamant that there was a better way to live and love, “Father, forgive them for they know not…” His way was and still is GRACE.

Today, we hear the echoes too--anguish, pain, grief, loneliness, anger, vengeance, hatred, fear, injustice, and brokenness. Prostitutes sell their bodies, desperate for love and affirmation. Addicts seek out drugs and alcohol, trying to fill the void in their lives. Gang members cry out for vengeance all in the name of their own credo—that in itself, a cry for acceptance and belonging. Kids in the street, in dysfunctional families, in orphanages, and in foster homes cry out to be noticed and to be loved. Cancer patients and the mentally ill cry out for healing and happiness. The poor and homeless cry out for money and food--for sustenance. And the lost and broken ache for something they can’t even define. Divorce, murder, abuse, and war--the cries of victims who are beaten, torn, and broken ring out. Today, we see different faces in a different era but the cries are the same as those two thousand years ago. We read the paper and listen to the news. In story after story, even your very own stories, people cry out in need of something they can’t find…Echoes of those ancient, ageless cries reverberate across time and space with those of today. They are impossible to ignore.

Throughout His earthly life as He walked and talked among us, Jesus would reach out His hand to heal, to comfort, to encourage, to forgive...to bring life. He didn't give out a list of a hundred impossible things to do to earn it. He simply said, "Come to Me and I will give you rest."...And then He stretched out His arms and died. Two thousand years ago, Jesus gave His life so that Jerusalem might have peace...so that we might have peace today. A resurrected, living Christ still hears them. If you are reading this, chances are that He has answered your cries with His gift of mercy. In response and gratitude to His gift, we must live and love as He did—beyond what the world deems reasonable.

As you enter His story with us, we pray you gain insight from all that He lived and taught so long ago and from the stories of those who have walked ahead of you. What breaks His heart must break yours. He wants you to listen to the echoes of the city. Can you hear them?

As sad as it may be I have to rejoice knowing this year at another table, there was a seat added just for my Unkie...a table that is found in Heaven.

As we enter into a season of thanksgiving it causes me to pause and really investigate what I am thankful for. There's no doubt that first and foremost I am thankful that God looked upon a sinful person such as myself and extended to me an invitation of grace. Secondly I am grateful for a beautiful family that teaches me more than any textbook ever could. My list of people I am grateful for is quite long so I'll end this post with one other group of people I am thankful for, my staff. Those guys are incredible. Their passion for God and people inspire me to be a better believer. There is not an ounce of doubt in my mind that Mission Abilene has become what it is today because of each one of them.
I say all that to say, join us this Wednesday at the Re:turn feast so you can witness me express my gratitude to my staff as I present to them a special gift. I promise you don't want to miss this.

Last night leaving the Abilene High Football game, I experienced one of the funniest things I have ever witnessed during my lifetime. Walking through a dark crowded parking lot it was difficult to find my Jeep. Instead of walking through each aisle in attempt to find my car, I simply hit my keyless entry in hopes it would flash my lights on. God must have knew I was not in the mood to search aimlessly for my car because about 20 feet away the headlights of my Jeep began to flash. As I walked toward my Jeep I noticed a middle aged couple about 10 feet ahead of me. The next thing I know the couple is getting in my Jeep and then shut the doors once they are nestled into the seats. I continued to walk towards my Jeep, when I got next to the driver's side door, I kindly knocked on the window stating, "Sir, I think your in my Jeep." He said, "Well I have a red Jeep." I hate to admit it, but I laughed a little bit and then said "Sir, well I think you are sitting in a black Jeep." His wife began to laugh hysterically as the man proceeded to get out of my Jeep. We shook hands and then I got in MY black jeep (lol) with a story I'll never forget.

As you live today I pray you find a few chuckles along the way, in a world that reeks with stress, enjoy those moments that bring a smile to your face.

The total number of murders in Abilene for 2011 has already exceeded the total for 2010.

The Abilene Police Department has recorded six homicides so far this year. In 2010, the department investigated five. There were seven murders in Abilene in 2009.

Nearly 163 million children across the world are orphans.
The magnitude of the orphans and children in crisis remains deeply distressing, and the situation for children is likely worsening due to the global economic crisis and the effects on children due to bad governance, conflict, poverty, disaster, and disease.
Vulnerable children, with few means of supporting themselves are often forced to work in commercial agriculture, as street vendors, beggars, domestic servants, or given over to the sex trade — victims of human trafficking.

MALNUTRITION

Every 2 seconds, another orphan dies from malnutrition.
Malnutrition plays a part in more than half of all child deaths worldwide.
Even more often malnutrition cripples children’s growth, renders them susceptible to disease, dulls their intellects, diminishes their motivation and reduces their productivity.
Consider 4 children you know. What if one of them had so little to eat that they could not grow? In South Africa, one out of every four children under five has stunted growth, a consequence of malnutrition.
Millions of children suffer from micronutrient malnutrition, when the body lacks essential minerals and vitamins. These deficiencies can lead to severe mental or physical impairment, life-threatening anemia, lowered productivity, blindness,and a weakened immune system.

HIV/AIDS:

6,000 children are orphaned by AIDS every day. That is 1 newly orphaned child every 14 seconds.
The number of the entire child population of California, Oregon, and Washington = the 12,000,000HIV/AIDS orphans living in Sub-Saharan African.
Given the current number of individuals infected with HIV or AIDS, the number of children orphaned byAIDS will continue to rise for at least a decade.

Bittersweet Justice

Today the Austin David family is able to begin the healing process due to the conviction of Chris North, which I am grateful for. Yet today was bitter sweet because in the end although justice was served, no one wins in reality. Austin will never be able to return to this earth and today the North family lost one of their own as a result of justice becoming present. I would ask that as you pray please remember both families as they continue to face the consequences of violence. Although justice has been served, the heartbreak continues for both families. Please keep them in your prayers, and although it is painful may we never become weary in standing on behalf of justice.

In recent days a portion of scripture has been convicting me deeply. It's found in 1st Corinthians 7:17. After reading numerous translations, I have found the message translation cuts me to the core. It reads "And don't be wishing you were someplace else or with someone else. Where you are right now is God's place for you. Live and obey and love and believe right there." In other words, your presence matters. Right where you are, your presence matters.

My prayer for each of us is that we would all come to the realization that our presence matters.

Empty Your Cup

This week I challenged our staff to write about how they are emptying their cup...

Emptying your cup means to pour out to others the wisdom you have gained throughout your life.

One of my favorite portions of Scripture is found in John 14:12 it states“I tell you the truth, anyone who believes in me will do the same works I have done, and even greater works, because I am going to be with the Father."
I love Jesus' mindset, He clearly states that our job in life is to work ourselves out of one. We are called to train people up in such a way that they can do our job
better than we ever could.

I am so excited to witness this take place in our leadership team. So many of my staff do things so much better than I do already.The day is quickly approaching when I will no longer lead my team, they will lead me...how exciting.

Day 3

Since it is really late, and I have to catch an early morning flight I will be extremely brief.

Today was another action packed, insightful day.

Had the privilege to hear several incredible speakers, two of them being

Blake the founder of TOM's shoes, man that guy is amazing. More importantly his passion to not only talk about making a difference but to actually do something is incredibly inspiring. My family prior to the event already owned a pair of Tom's, but my suitcase has a couple of new presents for them...shh don't tell them... ha ha

I was a fan of His and his shoe line prior, but my love for his mission in life and his passion has definitely increased.

Also got to hear Mark Driscoll today. That guy is crazy good at conveying the Word of God. He is another example of people in this modern time living out their faith. It was truly exciting to hear him live instead of how I normally hear him via podcast.

I am also excited to bring home from Atlanta some new projects that my staff and I will bring to life in Abilene Texas. These projects will focus on fighting injustice globally.

Needless to say my suitcases are packed to brim, my heart is full, and my passion is deeper than ever.

I am looking forward to see my amazing family tomorrow, and my extended family, Mission Abilene on Sunday...

Don't forget to join us this Sunday, it will be a day that will inspire you to not only be a part of the community, but to live in it.

Day 2

Today was a day that I will never forget as I continued to meet with several organizations that fight injustice globally. I am super excited to partner with a few of these particular organizations in the near, near future.

I have truly been encouraged by seeing how the Gospel is going to the ends of the earth.

I also had the privilege to hear my good buddy Chris Seay speak along with a few other incredible speakers such as Dave Ramsey and Francis Chan.

It has definitely been good to get away and gain a little bit of refreshment and catch up on some writing,although it has been incredibly difficult to be away from my fam.

Day 1 Atlanta

Greetings from Atlanta, what a day it has been to get to my destination. My morning started out at 3am with an hour and a half drive. Then at around 4:30am I hopped in one of my good pastor friends car and we drove 3 hours to Dfw, We then jumped on a plane for a few hours, then once again got in a car and drove another hour. Even in the midst of sleep deprivation and a long day, I am truly encouraged. I am encouraged by over 13,000 young pastors from all over the country uniting together to gain insight, wisdom, and refreshment from some of most courageous Christians I have ever met, but most of all from our Creator. God is definitely showing me quite a few directional things that I will reveal in the days ahead.

Today I got to meet with numerous organizations around the world that make some noise by fighting all sorts of injustice...I'm sure in the next few days and months Mission Abilene will partner with a few of these particular organizations.

I am also encouraged by checking the updates on M.A.'s facebook about the clean water project in Brazil. Scripture reveals to us in Matthew 19:26 Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” There is no doubt in my mind the people of Brazil are witnessing this Scripture come to life as they are able to experience a drink of clean, safe, water for the very first time. God is so good, and may we never forget that HE DESERVES ALL THE GLORY FOR THIS WATER MOVEMENT, not a single one of us. Wellington my friend, the people of Mission Abilene stand with you, heart and soul, and we will continue to partner with you in the days ahead to make an even greater impact on behalf of our King in your land.

Blessings to all of you that follow my blog, I pray you are encouraged that God is not asleep but more awake than ever. I pray you are encouraged that He is moving, and will continue to move as long as we stay out of His way.

Today was a day that I will absolutely never forget as long as I live. I witnessed first hand somewhere around 40 people, ( we don't have an official count yet,) display a tremendous amount of audacity as they professed their faith through baptism. God you are so AWESOME.

Mission Abilene family you have sketched a memory in my heart that I will never forget. Thank you for allowing me the incredible honor to witness the move of God through you today.

Thank you for showing me that there are people that reside on this earth that refuse to be the norm. Thank you for being AUDACIOUS. Because of your Audacious obedience I will never forget you.

H2O leaves me speechless

Never in my life have I been excited about drinking a glass of water, or even seeing it for that matter regardless of how parched I have been in the past, WELL UNTIL NOW. The reality that I can sit and have a clean glass of water knowing that thousands of miles from the city I call home there are literally thousand daily that for the first time are drinking safe clean water.

I can't thank you enough Mission Abilene family, Brian, and Matt for showing such great audacity to save thousands upon thousands of people's lives.

Because of you, I am speechless...
