Chapter One

Right out of the gate, Paul starts his letter off with praising God for the blessings that come forth as a result of Christ. Ephesians 1:3 states, “Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ.” Then as we transition on down we read in verse 15-16 “For this reason, ever since I heard about your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for all the saints, I have not stopped giving thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers.” The prayer that Paul prays is that the Ephesians would develop an increase in wisdom and understanding, his greatest desire is that they would know God more in depth. In all reality, this should be our desire for ourselves.
