Thermostat

This week as I was doing some research I stumbled across this quote that intrigued me.

“There was a time when the church was very powerful—in the time when the early Christians rejoiced at being deemed worthy to suffer for what they believed. In those days the church was not merely a thermometer that recorded the ideas and principles of popular opinion; it was a thermostat that transformed the mores of society."
--Martin Luther King, Jr

I pray in days to come that the church will began to be more of a thermostat, than a thermometer. In reality, the possibility of whether or not this will occur depends on you and I, and the effort or lack of effort we put forth.
