John 10 21/21 challenge

I love the story of the good shepherd in chapter 10 for many different reasons. First and foremost, by the shepherd knowing the sheep by name displays that there is a relationship between the two.I wholeheartedly believe this is one of the greatest attributes of the God I follow, we can have a personal relationship with him. Then the good shepherd leads them, he doesn’t order them, he doesn’t yell at them, he leads them. Jesus did this time and time again throughout the New Testament he led by example.

I love how Jesus compared himself to the door. In a sheep pen the shepherd stretched out his body across the only entrance of the pen to keep out threats to his sheep. Jesus is our great protector.

Then as we follow along in chapter 10 we Jesus accused of being demon-possessed. As a result of the bold claims Jesus made people were torn in deciding whether he was a lunatic or the Lord. A question we all must ask ourselves...

In John 10:40-42 we find more and more people starting to believe…
“And He went away again beyond the Jordan to the place where John was baptizing at first, and there He stayed. Then many came to Him and said, "John performed no sign, but all the things that John spoke about this Man were true." And many believed in Him there.”

Regardless of what the Pharisees tried to do to keep people from believing in Jesus, it didn’t work…His movement continued…
