What you going to do about that?

Around my house there is this game I play with my 10 year old daughter, Lexi. Whether we are just giving each other a hard time, or when a serious crisis arises there is a phrase that consisently comes from our lips. Just yesterday Lexi came to me and said, "I can't find my pump for my soccer ball, Daddy." I smiled at her and before I could even get the common phrase from my lips, Lexi chimed in and said, "What you going to do about that," which is our little catch phrase. I say that phrase to her consistently because I want her to be a greater activist than I ever could, I desire her to experience situations and react to them.So this week I gave my staff the blog assignment to free write about the thought "what you going to do about that?" Here are some of my thoughts about this statement.

David all throughout the Old Testament he acted. A bear tried to eat his sheep, David chased after it. A lion tried to attach David's sheep, David lit into the lion. Goliath tried to bow up and wreck havoc on David's Bros, David attacked. In other word's David did something about that(each situation he faced.) Are we like David, when we see situations arise do we act, or do we turn the other way acting if we didn't see them?

My question to you is what are you going to do about that? Four thousand children die daily from drinking unclean water, "what you going to do about that?" There are more and more homeless people that live on the streets of our city weekly, what you going to do about that? There are children that don't have proper mentors, "what you going to do about that?" There are tons of non profit organizations that are struggling to acquire volunteers, "what you going to do about that?" The cycle of needs continue, but the question is, "what you going to do about that?" What am I going to do about that?
